Every adventuring party has its strengths, whether it's swordplay, spellcasting, or summoning the perfect cup of coffee. At Dragon Roast Coffee, our guild is made up of passionate creators, roasters, and artists who bring this fantasy-fueled brand to life. From the flames of the roastery to the enchanted ink of our illustrators, meet the team crafting every sip, spell, and story.

Ethan "Rune" – Owner / Head Dragon

He / Him
Roastmaster, Designer, Event-Goer, Former Content Mage

Known in the lands of Twitch and YouTube as Rune, Ethan is the founder and high flame behind Dragon Roast Coffee. A former full-time content creator specializing in competitive card games, Ethan once partnered with Blizzard and Riot Games before choosing to channel his powers into the art of coffeemancy.

Now, he roasts every batch of beans with precision and passion, designs our magical merch, and braves the convention halls to bring the brew to the people. When not in his dragon form, you’ll find Ethan hoarding tabletop RPGs and obscure board games. See him at an event? Ask him about his favorites — he will go off.

Salvador Rivera – Owner / Dragon Tamer

He / Him
Merch Maker, Chaos Coordinator, Game Developer Extraordinaire

Every dragon needs a tamer and Salvador is ours. As managing director, he’s the one making sure your orders ship on time, the merch looks amazing, and the wheels of this caffeine-powered machine keep turning smoothly.

Outside of Dragon Roast, Salvador is a lifelong game developer with 10+ years of experience creating educational software, VR worlds, casino games, and RPGs. (Yes, he’s currently working on something secret and magical just for Dragon Roast...)

Favorite games include: Resident Evil, Devil May Cry, Last of Us, Spyro, and Ratchet & Clank. If you want to talk game dev or cool mugs, Salvador’s your guy.

Casey "Remille" Simoes – Loremaster

He / Him
Writer, Storyteller, Lore Keeper, Adventuring Bard

Hello there! I’m Casey—also known by my pen name, Remille Departeaux—and I’m the voice behind the scrolls at Dragon Roast Coffee. I write the blog posts, roast descriptions, ad copy, and all the fantastical lore that brings our world to life. If you’ve read it, I’ve probably written it.

I hail from Albuquerque, New Mexico, but currently reside in Denver with my husband Salvador, and our boyfriend, Ethan. My background may be in science, but my passion lies in storytelling through games, fantasy, and TTRPGs. Inspirations include Dragon Age, The Legend of Zelda, and Dungeons & Dragons, but I’m always searching for the next quest.

Find more of my work at caseysimoes.com, or, of course, right here among the beans.

Jenna Turner – Artist

She / Her
Fantasy Illustrator, Denver Native, Goblet of Pens Holder
linktr.ee/Roll_Arcana

Jenna Turner, also known in the creative realm as Ayukame, is one of the artists helping bring Dragon Roast Coffee’s magical world to life. A lifelong Denverite, Jenna has been illustrating since her teen years and specializes in fantasy, gaming, and anime-inspired art.

Though she briefly studied art at Warren Tech, Jenna is largely self-taught and passionate about continuous growth. She’s driven by a deep love for coffee, creativity, and the joy of worldbuilding through visual storytelling. Whether working on character art, whimsical dragons, or coffee-themed illustrations, Jenna channels her artistic energy into every piece.

She shares her work under the name Roll Arcana across various platforms, and is always open to commissions, collaborations, or just saying hello.

Shelby Benefield – Artist

She / Her
Freelance Illustrator, T-Shirt Sorceress, Cat Appreciator
linktr.ee/shelbybenefield

Shelby Benefield is a professional illustrator with over a decade of experience creating charming, nerdy artwork across a variety of formats. From t-shirt graphics and character design to backdrops and digital illustrations, her style brings an unmistakable touch of cuteness and whimsy, perfectly aligned with the Dragon Roast aesthetic.

As one of Dragon Roast Coffee’s contributing artists, Shelby is responsible for some of the adorable dragon and creature designs you’ll find gracing our merch and site. Outside of her work with Dragon Roast, she enjoys video games, drawing delightfully nerdy things, drinking coffee, and admiring cats (which, let’s be honest, is a full-time job in itself).

The Party Continues...

Whether roasting in the lair, crafting art in the tower, or scribbling lore in the candlelit archives, our team is united by one thing: a deep love for coffee and creativity.

Dragon Roast Coffee is more than a brand. It’s a collaborative party made of passionate nerds who love what they do and pour that love into every roast, every design, and every cup.

Thanks for being part of our story, and for fueling your adventures with our brews. Stay magical!
