August + September Recap

Salutations adventurers and welcome to another recap - this time hosted by yours truly. The last few months have been jam - PACKED with events and I want to tell you all about it! Not only did we get our Kickstarter into pre launch, but we also attended 6 events! Thus, the majority of August was spent preparing Kickstarter for this con circuit.
Nan Desu Kan 2025
NDK was the first convention that I ever attended - and it felt great to return this year as an exhibitor. Even better, my hometown anime convention has grown so big and the experience remains as great as I remembered it all those years ago. The volunteers and staff at this event really rolled out the red carpet for us (shout out to Derrek for letting us expand our zone on Day 2, and everyone for running a smooth load-in and load-out!). They also gave local vendors a shoutout in the con book! The hall was filled with HUNTR/X and Demon Slayer cosplay, but I want to give special thanks to the Toboe cosplayer that picked up some coffee from us. I needed that nostalgia boost. Can't wait to return in 2026!
Furry Migration
Now this con was a blast, and a rejuvenating experience for our resident dragon! This con had the privilege of being home to our first 20 foot booth experience (we had to pull out all the stops for this gala). Every day was a new adventure, boosted by having a Dealer’s Den that shuts down for lunch everyday. The hotel restaurants also created some signature dishes for the con that included a souvenir bowl which, yes, I did make sure Ethan grabbed for me. Not only did our dragon get to connect with some amazing furs, but we sold so well that we were worried about having enough stock in tow for the next event!
Frame Fatales
Meanwhile back home in Colorado, I was on standby to support the Frame Fatales speedrunning event benefitting the Malala Fund. For this week-long extravaganza, we crafted an exclusive collection consisting of a coffee and a tumbler - and Dragon Roast donated directly to the charity for each purchase made. It was an honor to contribute to this excellent cause, and help raise over $150,000 for the MalalaFund! We cannot wait to join forces with Frame Fatales again in the future.
GalaxyCon Des Moines
As soon as Ethan wrapped up Furry Migration in Minnesota, he went straight over to Des Moines, Iowa for their first ever GalaxyCon! Now we will be honest, this was the lowest performing con of the year so far. The exhibit hall was massive, but empty, and the weekend was spent catching up with fellow exhibitors more than anything. There was clearly a miscalculation in attendees for this particular event, as GalaxyCon events are typically much much larger. Regardless, we made the best of it and made some new friends! For everyone that made it out to see us, we thank you deeply.
Furever West
The fun is not over yet - the following weekend we both headed to Wyoming for one of our favorite events of the year: Furever West! This vibrant convention is on the smaller side, but full of exceptional individuals that make the weekend a fun and relaxing time. The larger venue this year allowed the Dealer’s Den to be an even better experience for everyone. It has been a pleasure to see the event we sponsored last year (and this year) continue to grow but maintain the good vibes. Thank you con staff for the help loading in, the daily breakfast that kept me alive - and sorry we couldn't stay for closing ceremonies this time. We cannot wait to return next year!
Aurora Mini-Con
Our final stop brought us back home to Colorado for a one day event hosted by the combined efforts of the Aurora Library and Cultural Services, the Aurora History Museum, and Parks Recreation. This indoor/outdoor event was free to the public and saw a massive turnout of 2800+ people. The weather was gorgeous and this was our second time vending outside - though our first time with 20 foot space. This time around we were able to point attendees towards Subjective Coffee (our current home), and more surprisingly we ran into a LOT of people from NDK! Thus bringing our 6 weeks in a row of conventions full circle. The crew from The Last Caw also showed up to the event as well. Thank you everyone who stopped by for your continued support!
Oathbreaker’s Return
Last but not least - we ended the month of September by preparing for Oathbreaker’s return. When we restocked October 1st, some of you eager fiends were purchasing Oathbreaker within the hour! This encouraged me to put together a promo video and make the return a bigger event. That evening we filmed the promo, recorded VO (voice over), and edited the footage. When we dropped the video and updated the site, the response was simply explosive. Many of you all were buying up 3-4 bags at a time! Let’s see if all of you can keep that momentum going this month!
That’s a wrap, For Now
Thank you for joining me on an extended recap of our con circuit from August to September. This was our most jam-packed section of the year, thankfully October is on the lighter side. We are kicking off this week with both Heartland Howl-o-ween and Fastest Fur’s Fall Fest, followed by Foxtrot Howl-o-ween, and concluding with Fall Into Fun. All the while, finding time to fulfill orders and continue working on our Kickstarter (which is in pre-launch now btw!). As of this writing we have hit 200 followers!!! Thank you so much to those of you that have already pledged your 1$ reservation for our one-shot as well - you are really giving us the energy we need to persevere. ‘Till next time!
