Greetings adventurers! It has been a BUSY start to the year so I wanted to give you all an update on what has been going on behind the scenes! We have been reflecting on everything that went well last year and looking really closely at what can be improved for this coming year. Some of these things are still too early to give TOO many details about but I did want to touch on stuff that we have coming soon!

New Roast Development

We have started working on developing our next roast "Bard"! This is easily the class that we get asked to make more than any other and its going to be super special. Work has already begun on sourcing the beans themselves from farms we want to work with, as well as starting work on developing the roast itself. I can't say TOO much about it yet but it is going to be an extra special launch with some special loot and will be our first trial of a new platform for us, Kickstarter. Our target for this is Valentines Day, because that seemed fitting for a bard.

Kickstarter

We have some BIG goals and plans for this year; thus we are joining forces with Kickstarter to help bring some of these ideas to life! This is a new endeavor for us, since we have always been fully self funded, but this is looking to be an incredible way to not only launch some really cool campaigns but also let you all be a part of it with us. We have been working closely with some amazing people over on the platform and are hoping to launch our first campaign with our new roast "Bard". Get excited!

Convention Planning

As you probably know, conventions are a HUGE passion of ours and it is one of the best ways we can get around the country to meet so many other heroes such as yourself. We have begun planning our conventions this year and our goal is to do even more than in 2024! We are also working on getting a convention roadmap up on the site so that you can follow along with us and see where we will be throughout the year. Our first convention will be "GenghisCon" which is a really cool tabletop and boardgame convention coming up February 20 – 23 in Denver, Colorado. Be on the lookout for more info on our socials and hopefully soon on our website as well for all our adventures this year!

New Packaging

One thing that is on everyone's mind right now is the unfortunate and unavoidable increase in the price of raw unroasted coffee. Sadly green (unroasted) coffee prices are skyrocketing all over the world and it is our goal to try and keep our prices as low as we possibly can. In taking on this quest, we are looking into is ways that we can cut costs on our end so that prices aren't passed off to you, our beloved adventurers. We dove deep and were able to find a solution that will not only reduce packaging costs but also be of a higher quality AND be able to showcase more information and MORE artwork on each bag!

Our new packaging will also show more about roast profiles as well as information about every farm that we work with right on the bags themselves! This is going to be a huge jump forward in our packaging and it has been a very massive undertaking...and time suck haha.

Brick and Mortar Location

We have been talking about this for a while and the search for a physical coffee shop / cafe / headquarters / hang out zone, has finally begun! Right now we have a roastery we are working out of for all of our roasting and order fulfillment needs but we have definitely outgrown the space. Our goal is to have an awesome place for people to be able to come and hang out, enjoy some amazing coffee and vibe while playing games or just relaxing.

We have found some really amazing real estate brokers that we are working with to try and find the perfect location to help create the first Dragon Roast Coffee quest hub! We have no idea how long this process will take as we definitely don't want to rush it since location is so important for everything we are wanting to do...not to mention extremely expensive. We will keep you all in the loop as we start finding places we like and get closer to launching!

Onward To February!

So yeah that is all the behind the scenes stuff we have been up to in January! As I mentioned, we have some lofty goals but are fully committed to introducing all of the mortal realms to delicious dragon-roasted coffee. My plan is to do one of these updates every month as well so you know exactly what we are up to! We love and appreciate every single one of you that is supporting us and we couldn't do this without you!
