December + 2025 Recap
Another year has come and gone - and I’ve nearly forgotten to do a recap for December. The end of last year was full of wonderful surprises and incredible events: from the end of our Kickstarter to the beginning of our first official brick and mortar location! Let’s dive in.
Dragonsteel Nexus

To kick off the month, we headed into the Cosmere. Now this event was one of the best by far. Dragonsteel Nexus is a convention that revolves around the lore created by Brandon Sanderson. Not only did we get to catch up with our friends at Wyvern Warfare (they make the dice coasters for our Kickstarter!), but Brandon himself came to all of the vendors to personally say hello and thank us for making the trip. We also got to spend the weekend making new friends with our booth neighbors Steve Argyle & Kat (their family helped us get some last minute supplies for our booth - thank you!!).
For the occasion, we crafted Allomantic pairings for all of our coffees - of which the resident Mistborn and Mistings were very appreciative. This was truly one of the most immersive events we have done, nearly everyone was in character, or in cosplay as a resident of the Cosmere universe. The staff were also incredible, and by far the most organized and responsive we’ve seen yet.
Kickstarter Campaign Ends

Thanks to the patronage of 480 backers, we ended our Kickstarter campaign at $56,010, much higher than our initial goal of $5,000! Every stretch goal we created was met: Cleric, Plushies, Fighter, Oathbreaker, Hats. We even had to create more stretch goals, and those were met as well! As of this writing, the Backerkit surveys have been sent out to everyone that has paid for their Kickstarter Pledge.
Additionally for those of you that missed out - there is still time to claim your loot! Head over to our pre-order store now and be the first in line to try out our new roasts with our Kickstarter backers. Claim your slot now!
Were House Art Market

Our final event of the year was held at Edgewater Civic Center, sponsored yet again by us here at Dragon Roast Coffee. Organized by The Last Caw, this end of year art market saw the largest turn out yet for art vendors! We are proud to have been able to cover table costs for some artists at this year’s event, as well as serve everyone coffee in "The Nest" lounge area. Attendees were thirsty, drinking over 136 cups within 4 hours! Thankfully, we had extra help to run the lounge and the booth this year - and we want to thank everyone for the excellent turn out!
Dragon Roast Finds a Roost

Finally - after 2 years of effort - we signed the lease to our very first location - officially! We got the keys as soon as we got back from Dragonsteel Nexus. So far, we have cleaned, painted, and moved in 90% of the operation. We are still tying up loose ends, and waiting for the arrival of our new roaster… more details on that later!
Whilst we are still putting together some finishing touches (and doing a little remodeling), Dragon Roast HQ is officially open for order pickup! Don’t worry, for those of you who prefer to get our coffee at Subjective Coffee, that location will continue to be available for pickup as well.
It feels so good to have a space that we can finally call our own, and we are incredibly thankful to start 2026 off on such a positive note! Thank you, everyone, who has made this possible.
2025 Recap
Before I go, I want to share with you our highlights from 2025. Despite one of the roughest years in coffee due to tariffs, we managed to persevere and thrive with all of your support. Enjoy the look back! (You can also check out our Tiktok recap video!)
